Pyay

Pyay (Prome) is only 161 km north of the Yangon travelling by car. Pyay is situated on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River on a lovely location. Interesting places in Pyay are Shwesandaw Pagoda, Baw Baw Gyi Pagoda, Be Be Gyi Pagoda and Payama Pagoda. It is famous for the “Ahkauktaung” which was the custom port in the ancient time and it is known for its carving of the Buddha Images on the cliff along the river.

Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock)

The famous legendry pagoda on the Golden Rock is about 160 km from Yangon. This pagoda is situated on a rocky mountain 3,615 ft. above sea level. The season of the pilgrimage is from October to May. If you are a nature lover and if you are totally aware of what could you expect at Golden Rock, you will enjoy your trip very much.

Taungoo

Taungoo (Kaytumadi City) was founded by King Mingyinyo in 1510 AD and located 175 miles from Yangon. All the four sides of the city wall are still very conspicuously seen, with the exception of the part of the southern wall. The wall is built of bricks and about 6.4 m from the wall city is the first moat filled with soft mud, which is about 9.6 m wide. It is one of the main gateways to Bago Yoma and teak forests in which you can see how elephants work like pulling logs and to treat them. But, the working site is not stable as is moving around depending on work load.

Mawlamyine

Mawlamyine, a charming town, is the capital of Mon State, situated at the mouth of the Thanlwin River. Located 28 miles from the sea, it is the third largest city in Myanmar. Visitors to Mawlamyine are simply enchanted at the scenic beauty and its temperate climate. The atmosphere of post-colonial decay is still palpable here.

Thanbyuzayat

About 60 km south of Mawlamyine, Thanbyuzayat is the counter apart of river Kui death railways of Thailand.

Monywa

A picturesque town on the Chindwin River, is Monywa with a typical un spoilt sites and it’s only a three hours’ drive from 136 km northwest Mandalay. Monywa serves as a major trade center for India and Burma through Kalay-Myo-Road and Chindwin River.

Pyin Oo Lwin

Pyin Oo Lwin is a popular hill station about 69 km away from Mandalay and over 1000 meters above sea level. It is well known for its colonial style houses with large compound and pine trees, eucalyptus and silver-oak abound in town. Delightfully cool and pleasant the whole year round.
